Want More Options?

Block Island has Inns, Hotels, Cottage Rentals and more - and details on all the available options are at the site at the button below.

We just suggest to stay somewhere close to the ferry if you are coming without a car. We have only brought a car with us once but have been to the island countless times - it’s great both ways!

As you might have already discovered - Block Island is not home to budget accommodation & September is off season but still some of the best New England weather of the year. If you see something that is too good to be true - its usually located off island. The island is small and has a very short tourism season - and as you’ll find out its a desirable place to be!

If your looking for an alternative to staying on island - you can stay in Point Judith, RI and take the ferry each day! But please keep in mind that the ferry does not run super late so you will need to leave the island at a reasonable time.

How to get to Block Island.

Upon arrival you can simply walk off the ferry and your here! No need for a car - but you are welcome to bring one if your accommodations have parking.

Most accommodations are within a 5 minute walk from the ferry port with a few locations being a bit of a distance. (Just check with your booking!)

There are car, bike and moped rentals on the island. Taxis are also available for hire.

  • When you arrive by ferry you will be welcomed to the main strip in BI - most accommodations are within a 5 minute walk. So no need to bring a car!
